Howdy Y'all,
I just got the Candian Brass Christmas CD "Noel." On it Chuck plays the Trumpeter's Lullaby (on Tuba of course). I love his sound on this track! It is very fat and full of color. I would guess from the pictures on the sleeve he was using the CB50 at the time and that is the horn on the recording. Anyone know the mouthpiece? If anyone is looking for a fun christmas CD this is it. They have a few tracks of some of the old Kenton Christmas Carols arranged by Ralph Carmichael, only played in tune this time and with french horns instead of bell front mellophones and an all-star big band (Arturo Sandoval, Jimmy Pugh, Dave Taylor amoung others). Also some very interesting arrangments with guest soloists James Galway, Richard Stolzman and guitarist Angel (appropriate for a Xmas CD, no?)Romero just to name a few. Definitely worth the $15.
