I have recently come across a mid-70's model Besson Imperial euphonium. This instrument is in absolutely wonderful condition and plays like a dream. The intonation has it's quirks, but overall plays with a consistent, dark tone quality and even response throughout all registers. I currently play a Willson 2900 and am fairly happy with it. But... after playing this old Imperial, I am seriously thinking about making the switch. Does anyone out there have any experience with these Imperials? Are there any flas consistent among them? Thanks in advance for any advice!
