I'm in the market for a new tuba and I'm pretty swamped with the sheer number of BBb tubas there are. I'm looking for a 4/4 or 5/4 rotary valve tuba. I've been looking at the mirafone 186-4U which seems to have a good standing in this group, but is it worth the extra money to purchase the mirafone over a cheaper Cerveny tuba. Other tubas in consideration is Meinl W. and VMI. Any Thoughts?
Also, is there a 5 rotary valve model for the 186?
And would it be worth it to purchase the 186-4UP, P being the presto linkage for the valves? Does anyone have any thoughts on this feature?
