I would like to know about the intonation issues on F tubas. I have heard that they can be quite quirky. I am interested in the newer ones particularly the German type rotary ones. Are there any that have a super good scale and especially the notes around A/Bb/C in the staff as well a G at the top of the staff. The ones I've played so far seem to be very similiar with A/Bb/C in the staff going quite sharp and G at the top of the staff being flat (all with standard fingerings) Is this just a generic issue and how does one get around this without having to use alternate fingerings? Thanks for any insight especially on the suggestion of an F tuba that is pretty well in tune right out of the shute.
