I see your point, but I wish if a tuba is going to be featured, it would actually sound good. It doesn't take a musicaly educated person to see that that guy was terrible, and it presents to the world the image that the tuba is only capable of sounding as good as that, with cracked notes, blatty tone, and a simplistic, elementary melody. I get the same feeling watching it when I see a drawing of a tuba player as a 400 pound, cheek puffing simpleton.
I was flipping around the dial, when I saw the tuba on the stage. I froze while I waited to see if howard johnson on somebody like that would be taking a ripping solo that would put the crowd (and me) on it's feet.
No luck, we got a bozo.
