Some day you are going to be on a crowded, poorly-lit stage or perhaps in a pit, waiting for your part of the show/concert to begin, and you are going to discover that a valve is sticking. If it's a piston you can yank it out, wipe it off, oil it, and replace it in a few seconds with no tools. If it's a rotary valve, well first you take off that little tiny screw and hope you don't drop it. Then you pry off the thing that the screw holds down. Then your lay the horn across your lap (hope you have enough room) and unscrew the bottom cap. Then you turn it over and hammer on the top of the shaft with the special mallet that you always carry with you, while trying to catch the rotor as it falls out. Then you are halfway there, almost. Good luck.
