I believe I may have had an epiphany. Recent posts on Eb horns made me wonder, how hard it would be to learn the fingerings. As an amateur community tubist, I have always been a BBb man. However, I began on trumpet reading treble clef many moons ago. Looking at the tips page on TUBENET, and viewing the fingering chart for and Eb tuba, I realized that if I were to take an Eb tuba, read tuba music, and use fingerings as though the notes on the page were for treble clef trumpet, it would all work. This is probably the most roundabout way to learn fingerings for Eb tuba, but I think it works. Anyone else understand this?
