Quite a while back (perhaps up until recent times) Yamaha made a shoulder-mounted version of their 201 (3V version of the extremely popular 4V 321) euphonium. In the not-to-distant past, I've bought the Yamaha marching parts and converted 4V Weril euphoniums to shoulder-mount (convertable) marching instruments. Why isn't this a good idea? If this is a bad idea, why not build the BBb "contras" like hold-out-front trumpets as well so that everyone has an opportunity to demonstrate their masculinity?
