I was just wondering about what would happen to all the military musicians if the U.S. were to enter into some sort of large scale war(a la WWII)... would they have to trade in their horns for rifles and mouthpieces for bayonets, and be sent off to fight?(Assuming a WW2-like situation were to arise)... or would they continue performing in the U.S.? Or perhaps travel around to perform for American/allied soldiers overseas?
Given China's threats of nuclear attacks on the U.S. if the U.S. were to interfere in a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, it's not a very farfetched possibility, which is what got me thinking about it.
