I recently got to thinking about the weight associated with the sousaphone, and was wondering-would making the outer branches and bell out of carbon fiber-known to be strong, yet lightweight-and the valve section from brass be technologically feasible?
Also, a percussionist and myself started a discussion on how different metals would affect the sound, so here they are-
Copper
Titanium
Brass(in pure form)
Bronze
