Alright. This IS dumb, but not THE dumbest post ever:

I've read countless posts containing tubenet reviews of live concerts describing the various tuba players' performances as "fantastic" / "amazing" / "awesome" / "monumental" / "beyond words" / etc.

Of course, there is a rule that "If one doesn't have anything good to say..." and that is a very fine rule indeed.

Do our anticipations and expectations - combined with the excitement of being at the event and witnessing our niche-celebrity tuba-idol - offer us "auto-upgrades" in our perceptions?

Are a few of these witnessed live performances perhaps "great", "good", or (may the TUBAH GOOOODDD have mercy upon me) "satifactory"?
